Beautiful location and great service

Pros: Beautiful decor - nice mix of traditional and modern style

Beautiful spot, great hotel, would stay there again.

Pros: Breakfast was awesome, loads of choice and high quality. Room was awesome, loads of space which is needed when travelling with reasonable amounts of luggage. Bed was very comfortable and large.

Cons: Cost of food at the resort was unjustifiably high relative to great restaurants outside resort. Would have spent a lot more on drinks and food at resort if pricing was closer to market rates. Also feel like some excercise classes etc should be free of charge for a resort of this caliber and cost.

Great fully contained result but very crowded and variable service

Pros: Great location and facilities. Golf lessons for the kids were brilliant. Beach is lovely though sun loungers were scarce.

Cons: Rooms were a bit dated, the pool near us was dirty for a few days. The service was hit and miss. The restaurants were overprice and the tips get added even when you don’t put a tip on the document.

Memorable beach holidays

Pros: What we did in fact like the most, was the staff!! Everyone was very friendly from the front desk, to the concierge moving to the housekeeping and specially the breakfast staff and waiting staff. Location is perfect with one of the best views over the garden and ocean. The facilities in general are great. We stayed in the main hotel and the room was comfortable and always very clean.

Cons: Though we are rating our stay 10 out of 10, we are disappointed with the restaurant \

WONDERFUL hotel with amazing service!

Pros: Amazing level of service from staff all around the property! Beautiful gardens, and beach area! LOVED our stay here and will be back for sure with the whole family!

Cons: The hair dresser closing early, and nail person being out for the whole week of the stay.

We enjoyed our stay but needed to use pools away from the main resort area due to beds being taken

Pros: Breakfast was fantastic, such a wide choice of food and exceptional staff service

Cons: Sun beds around the pool were often taken by 8am by towels being placed on beds - but no one actually used them before 1pm!! This happened daily, many people found it frustrating. The behaviour of some children was also unacceptable, yet staff did nothing to ask parents to have more control

Good but not perfect

Pros: We stay on a regular basis, the location and the campus is pretty amazing really.

Cons: A recurring issue we’ve noticed over the years is the lack of experienced front-of-house staff. During check-in, I felt I knew more about the hotel than the receptionist. She made several mistakes, and I ended up guiding her through parts of the process—likely frustrating for both of us. One of these errors later caused a problem with our pre-authorisation, which affected us throughout the stay. Another ongoing frustration is booking restaurant reservations. In previous years, we arrived to find everything already fully booked weeks in advance. This year, anticipating the same, I emailed ahead—but once again received no response prior to arrival. I appreciate this may sound like nit-picking, but it’s in the context of the hotel’s repeated claims of offering excellent service. After five consecutive visits, it’s disappointing that the front-facing team still seems undertrained. That said, it won’t stop us from returning—the overall experience remains enjoyable—but it’s a shame, because if this were addressed, the hotel could truly be exceptional. There was also an issue the night before departure when a water main broke outside the hotel, cutting off the water supply. We were offered use of the suites the following morning, which still had running water. However, the staff at the suite reception came across as dismissive. Given the circumstances and the fact we’d spent over £10,000 at the hotel, it felt like they were doing us a favour, rather than providing a basic service, they should have refunded the night really.. bye and bye… the stay was great the beach is amazing ..

Paradise

Pros: Brilliant in every way. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Gorgeous facilities. The Yakuza sushi restaurant onsite was a real standout. The beach views are exceptional. Food and drinks are extravagant, make sure you’ve got a deep pocket.

Cons: It would be great to see more Portuguese food options :)

Lovely refurbished room and great staff, need to work an experience for couples or is it just for families?

Pros: The design. The champagne bar setting. The staff. Quality of food at lunchtime. The 9 hole golf was fun and good for a knock but expensive. Residents get a discount but we didn’t know this and booked directly online and they wouldn’t refund the difference to us when we arrived.

Cons: We stayed just before Easter but disappointingly although the website states there are 15 amazing restaurants there were only 2 restaurants open in the evening which were cafes really and for families not couples; the website should make this clearer up front so we dined outside the hotel due to lack of choice. Also, the bar on the beach shut at 5pm when it advertised 6pm. The seafood restaurant is closed for food. We were very disappointed not to be able to use the hotel’s facilities for the price we paid and a Luxury Collection resort. There should be an ‘adults only’ pool for a resort of this size all 3 had children using them.
