Great getaway for families

Pros: The hotel is a paradise for kids and people that want to get away and chill by the pool or beach. The pools are amazing. And for kids is really the paradise, they have 2 special pools for kids, and one has small water slides that were the highlight for my kids (2 and 4 years old). The rooms were nice and big, and the cleaning personnel were very nice.

Cons: My family didn't really like the food and we eat everything. I stayed in a couple of resorts like this, and very few have great food, this is not one that I would say the food is great. One night I went to a different hotel to eat because I was missing some good food. For me the best food was on the weekend, which was sadly the day we left. It is a personal thing, they have lots of options, I just expected more in a country where the food is so good. The internal pool might be heated, but it was far from warm. In fact the water was as cold or very near to the one outside. That was super disappointing for me. I don't know if it was just this time, or if it is always like this, but the heated internal pool was one of the main points on picking this place as I saw it could rain during my trip. The water was cold but the kids loved it anyway.

Pros: I truly enjoyed my stay at GHB Guarana! The staff were warm and welcoming, and my room was cozy and clean. There was a great variety of tasty food and plenty of fun entertainment/activities in a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. The hotel is also just a short walk from the beach — the perfect getaway!

Great Family Hotel in Portugal

Pros: Excellent staff! The food was delicious and the rooms were very comfortable. The extra activities for the kiddies were good fun - we loved the baby disco!

Cons: The pools were super cold! We couldn't swim in any of them except the indoor pool which was still on the chilly side. Amazing looking pools and splash park just a shame the water is so cold.

No hassle, good food, relaxing

Pros: Very spacious, multiple pools, clean facility, constant and continuous food and drinks, friendly and attentive staff. They allowed very late checkout (left the room but used all facility and restaurants) without extra fee.

Cons: Not a deal breaker but few things could be better - Umbrellas are transparent therefore you donot stay under solid shadow. - Better ice cream could be better

Great place if you are not searching for a quite place.

Pros: Great staff, everyone was very friendly. It seems like the hotel gives cleanliness a high priority, even the playground gets cleaned daily. Water playground and regular playground have been amazing fun for our three year old, as well as the small pool for kids. The food is quite good, pretty much everything I tried was tasty. You have a good availability of cold drinks and there is always a place open to get some food. Wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean. Also, for older kids, there are even more activities and a kids club but that wasn't applicable for us yet.

Cons: Isolation of the windows is pretty poor and entertainment goes until 11pm with live music, so if you get the nice view over the property and the ocean, you'll also get the noise. Sometimes the choice of dishes was a bit boring, especially for lunch. When traveling with a toddler, restaurant hours with lunch 12:30 and dinner from 18:30 weren't ideal for us but worked out quite okay in the end. The rooms are a bit older, in our room the handle in the shower fell off due to rusty screws. Parking during high season can be challenging, if you don't get a reservation for private parking.

Good for family with kids

Pros: Overall good, many swimming pools, nice food, lovely staff.

Cons: All activities were for kids, even evening ones. No entertainment for adults.

Lovely all inclusive just outside Albufeira

Pros: Loved our stay at this hotel. The pool area is large and there’s a good vibe with music on. The staff is lovely and always ready to help, they even helped me sort out a little surprise for my partners birthday. Food is great especially given that there are 4 restaurants available. If I had to be picky I’d say it would have been nice to include snacks such as crisps and peanuts in their snack bar. Drinks are available the whole day at different spots, a mix of self-service and served. Cocktails are okay but pre-mixed so very sweet. The hotel is out of Albufeiras center which was a plus for us given that we didn’t want to be in the mess of the strip.

Cons: The AC in the room is old style, doesn’t cool down as much. The hotel is very family friendly which I can imagine it’s a plus if you come with kids, but I have to say that as a couple we found it a bit much. The entertainment programs are mostly catering to kids and while there are kids pools available they were mostly in the main pool. It would have been nice to have at least one area in the hotel reserved for adults only (there’s a disco like bar like that but it’s in the basement, I’m referring mostly to a terrace or a restaurant) to take a break from it.

Amazing stay - vegetarian and family friendly - could be better with good air con

Pros: Facilities , Pool , entertainment, kid friendly , decent vegetarian options in the main buffet restaurant. Even got a free upgrade to pool view room. Oriental restaurant was ace which is a reservation only so do get a spot early.

Cons: The entire hotel lacked good air conditioning including the lobby areas (went in late May 25). We asked for a technician to come in to check if the air conditioning was working or not , the technician came in after repeated requests and he found out that the aircon was blasting at 29C . The technician spotted the problem immediately and fixed it . He even told that the temperature is controlled centrally, so the room wasn’t at the most comfortable temperature throughout the entire stay. There is a fan in the room which doesn’t go very fast citing safety reasons.

Pros: lovely hotel, no misleading info online, very good variety of food, excellent pool & spa. all the staff were soooo friendly. also if it was windy you couldnt notice it because of how the hotel is built. i think the sun loungers could have done with side tables but apart from that - EXCELLENT!! definitely recommend.

Pros: The pools, lots to keep the kids occupied. The disco. The food, lots of options. It was clean and fun
