Occidental Faro - Not to be looked over

Pros: I loved everything. We had a very lovely welcome. Check on was smooth. I was met with a suprise bottle of bubbly and macarons and personalised note which was lovely. I domt drink alcohol and they accommodated my request for a non alcoholic version. Rooms were clean, laid out nicely, everything was as expected. We were also treated to a free drink at the bar which was nice also. I wish I took the name of the young lady who was at the reception but she was exceptional. I've recommended the hotel and I would stay there again including other Occidental resorts. Amazing customer service and the location is spot on for everything you need to do in Faro.

Cons: Nothing I was happy with my stay.

My favorite hotel to date

Pros: Breakfast was amazing!! The front desk staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. They issued me a new parking pass after I promptly lost mine upon arrival.

Cons: I wish I could have stayed longer.

Definitely worth a return visit as it's in a great location and has a wonderful rooftop dining area.

Long weekend away from UK and its weather.

Pros: Breakfast was very, very good. Staff were polite and attentive. Hotel location is spot on and convenient to get everywhere we needed. Very good value for money.

Cons: Hotel room was adequate in size but it seemed a little tired in places. There was evidence of water damage of the walls and ceiling by the window, bathroom doors were scuffed and faded. There was a very pungent smell of air refresher in the lobby (over-powering in fact) and the noise in our room coming from the restaurant above was loud, especially during breakfast hours.

Great time

Pros: That was my second time in this hotel and I would come back. Great location, right in the heart if the city. Clean room, friendly and helpful staff. Can't complain.

Cons: It might be a bit noisy as it's literarily next to the bars and restaurants but it wasn't an issue for us.

Thoroughly recommend this hotel

Pros: Food choice at breakfast was excellent. Room very clean and hotel facilities excellent. Fabulous location

Cons: Windows to room 301 let in rain and wind howling at 2.30am kept us awake

Best choice for Faro

Pros: We love staying here. It has changed hands but the new management seem to be fixing old problems while maintaining the good stuff: our room was smartly refurbished with a perfect shower and the breakfast is great. Still a midday checkout- amazing! Still can't get a decent cup of tea, no milk in the rooms, but I think they do that to keep us on our toes. Staff were friendly and helpful. A good hotel like this helps to protect the local housing from Airbnb.

Cons: Sauna was a bit confusing, some guidelines would be helpful.
