Wonderful stay in peaceful surroundings

Pros: Our stay at Retiro da Janela was wonderful! We arrived quite late at night but Silvana was still waiting for us to welcome and show us around. Our suite Casa do Forno was spacious, very nice decorated and had a very good (big!) bed and beautiful bathroom with a great shower. The breakfast the first morning was so good with lots of different fruits, bread, yoghurt, etc. Everyday I went to the garden to eat fresh figs and almonds and to pick fresh mint and other herbs for tea. We didn’t use the outside kitchen because it was too warm but the drinks and ice creams were great refreshments at the pool. It is a quiet and peaceful place, recommended for couples without children. Thank you Silvana for your great service and our nice talks!

Pros: The atmosphere, the silence, the vibe of the rooms and the attention to details.

Cons: Nothing to complain about, everything was percect.

Delightful, relaxing, an absolute joy.

Pros: Silvana, the host, was amazing - she was looking after the place the time we were there, but I know that she's just there temporarily. Location is wonderful, away from all the tourists. It's a little retreat, quiet, relaxing, and beautifully refurbished. A close drive to nearby towns and facilities. Breakfast is very nice - it's an extra, not included in our package.

Cons: We were there for 5 days and the coffee pods didn't get replaced after first day, had to purchase more - little things like this, I find annoying. Coffee is essential in the morning and I'd rather pay extra in my overall package than to scirmp on coffee. We went to Aldi down the road and bought a box.

Paradise in Portugal

Pros: We loved every minute, Claudine has created the most beautiful retreat, and other than to go out for dinner, we never left the hotel as it was so calm and peaceful, just what we were looking for.

Cons: There's nothing not to like, I would say some people might like to consider hiring a car as it is a little bit off of the main route and to get to shops, bars and the beach you need to take a taxi.

Pros: This really is a hidden gem, quiet, fabulous owner who makes sure you are looked after. Fabulous pool, good WiFi. And not many people as a maximum , really felt like a home from home.

Pros: The place is amazing the pictures are amazing but when your there it's even better. Staff are so helpful and nice. Would highly recommend.

Paradise

Pros: We liked everything. Claudine has thought of everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. It’s the most well equipped property we have stayed in. The view from the pool is gorgeous. We had breakfast at the property which was great value for money - fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, granola, warm bread, sweet treats, lovely coffee. The gardens surrounding the pool are beautiful. Easy to get Ubers to the surrounding areas. We can’t wait to come back 😊

Pros: Retiro da Janela is a very pretty property away from the tourist crowds but still in close proximity to many nice beaches and attractions. The rooms are cozy and clean, it has a beautifully decorated terrace, a great pool and cute garden. Don't miss out on the breakfast. It is super delicious, healthy and generous. Claudine is an exceptional host, who is well organised, responsive, helpful and cares dearly about her guests. I hope I can go back one day!

Perfect relaxing break, beautiful accommodation, away from the hustle and bustle.

Pros: This was one of the most beautiful boutique properties we have stayed. It’s in a very quiet location, away from the hustle and bustle of touristy areas, but less than a 15 minute drive away from the sea, cafes and shops. Unless you are happy to pay for Uber, you will need a car while staying here, but these are relatively cheep in comparison to other European countries we’ve been to. The pool is beautiful, the grounds are clean and well kept. The accommodation itself is stunning, immaculate and with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The shower is powerful. The owner is very accommodating and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It felt very private and perfect for a relaxing break. So much lovelier than the photos. We loved it here and will definitely be back!

Cons: There was nothing that we didn’t like. We had a great, enjoyable stay.
