Excellent location and apartment with a welcoming and attentive host

Pros: Fantastic location overlooking the wetlands of the lagoon near Faro airport with the sea on the other side of the road. Great place for spotting the various waterbirds. Marcos, our host, was very helpful and informative when we picked up the keys. He made us feel very welcome and even invited us out to lunch. Plenty of restaurants and cafes within walking distance and the ferry to Faro left from a pier 100m away and only took 25 minutes to reach the old part of the city and plenty more sites and restaurants. Kitchen was very well equipped.

Cons: The beds were fine and there were plenty of drawers and wardrobe space but the wooden dining chairs were not very comfortable and the sofa had seen better days.

Pros: Excellent location (right next to the ferry landing), and seconds away from the beach

Cons: This is a little petty! But we would have liked a second pillow…

Highly Recommended

Pros: Proximity to the beach and the ferry were fantastic. Restaurants, bars, and mini-markets were all close. Our morning coffee overlooking the lagoon was delightful, watching the planes land and takeoff. Marcos is a great host - friendly, helpful, and informative.

Cons: Sometimes the street noises were loud late at night, especially with some of the motorcycles, however that's not a reflection on this property. My biggest complaint was the fact that I had to leave ;) .

Beautiful active but relaxing break. No arguments about what to do today - just go to the beach...

Pros: keys waiting for us where we arrived, with no delay whatsoever. We've used apartments barracuda several times in the past and will continue to do so. Faro Beach is a very special location, quiet, uncrowded, low rise - with a super beach, and a few good restaurants and cafes. It's relatively small and friendly place , and access to all facilities is easy and within walking distance. Additionally - everywhere can be accessed from the beach, so you can do all your walking on the beach if you prefer. Faro Beach is all about beach life - no other distractions. There are some more beautiful (small) islands accessible by (foot) ferry from Faro/Faro beach well worth a visit. (ie Farol , Isla Deserta and Culatra). There are also a few nice towns for evening strolls a short Uber ride away - like Faro, Olhao, Tavira. This is a very laid back area, quite different to the bustle you might expect in the Algarve. - and only 5 minutes from Faro Airport. I just love this place...

Cons: we only stayed for a week this time.. much too short. There is absolutely NOTHING not to like here. It's perfect.

Stunning sunrise and sunset

Pros: Sunrise over the harbour and sunset over sea, everyday it was different and absolutely beautiful. The location was perfect.

Cons: Leaving, we will be back.

Pros: Very friendly and helpfull owner. Location was absolutely percect, close to the beach, close to ferry taking you to city centre and loads of bars and restaurants around.

Cons: Place is little bit outdated.

Excellent base to enjoy the Algarve

Pros: Location, super friendly host who provided a lot of very useful information. All was super clean and comfortable located between the Ria and the ocean. Strongly recommend

Barracuda Apartments

Pros: Facilities for cooking/bathroom/hairdryer/wardrobe and drawer space/outdoor seating area. Location! Beach on one side, laguna on other (can swim in both). Ferry to Faro 2 min walk.

Cons: No air con was a big problem for us. It was 35°C outside but there was no respite from the relentless heat. There was a ceiling fan for the sleeping area which helped but the bathroom and kitchen were too hot for us. Opening windows just let hot air in.

Pros: Amazing place! Perfect location, stunning views, and a wonderful host We stayed at Barracudas Apartments in Faro (2nd floor) — two adults and our 2-year-old child — and had an absolutely amazing experience. The location is ideal: peaceful and quiet, yet just a 2-minute walk to the ferry that takes you right into Faro city. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed — including a washing machine, laundry pods, coffee, hairdryer, drying rack, and a fully equipped kitchen. From the bedrooms, you can enjoy beautiful views of the lagoon and the sunrise. From the kitchen, living room, and terrace, there’s a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean and the sunset — simply unforgettable! The host, Markus, was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. He explained everything clearly and even gave us lots of extra local tips and information. We were truly happy with our stay and would absolutely love to come back!
